I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually happening.
